Stages of Childhood Care

From pregnancy until their teens, children can benefit from chiropractic care.

Why is chiropractic care needed?

Our technology measures whether common lifestyle stresses are having an impact on your child’s body.  Some examples of these stresses include:

Pregnancy:

Belly bondingWe find many babies are stuck in an awkward position as they are developing in the womb.  This can cause the spine to be out of alignment even before birth.

Delivery:

A “normal” delivery puts 70-100 pounds of pressure on your baby’s neck.  An assisted delivery can mean pulling the head or the shoulder to help your baby out.  Some babies require a lot of pulling – by hand, with suction, with forceps, or by c-section.

newborn careHave you ever given your newborn to a someone who was “just old enough” to hold a baby?  What is the main thing you emphasize?  Watch the head, don’t drop the head, be careful because their neck isn’t very strong yet…

We know how important it is to protect an infant’s neck, and at Whole Family Chiropractic we know how much stress that area is under to be born.  As a result, we are experts at checking your newborn to make sure everything is lined up right.

Toddlers

School Age Children:

schoolAgeChildrenAs kids enter school, they have increased stress with homework, friends, teachers, and performing the best they can.  Kids who are active with sports and athletics experience falls both big and small.  Kids with repetitive activities also benefit from chiropractic care.  Things like violin, reading, computer time…anything that may have your child doing the same motion, or being hunched over in awkward positions can put a lot of strain on their spine.

We find that regular care helps your child stay healthy and develop optimally throughout all the stages of life!

In fact, a study published in the Chiropractic Research Journal compared the health and wellness of 200 children under chiropractic care compared to 200 children under conventional medical care.  The chiropractic group had fewer ear infections, fewer allergies, and fewer cases of tonsilitis and asthma.  The health of the children under chiropractic care was “demonstrably superior to the children who had not received it.”
